The biotechnology undergraduate program in our branch campus in Cuenca invites the university community and the general public to celebrate its 10th year anniversary.

The purpose of the Biotechnology program is to train competent professionals in the use, transformation and manipulation of biological resources, with ethical responsibility and integral human commitment that respond to national demands in terms of industrialization, health improvement, increased production, preservation of the environment and ancestral knowledge, taking advantage of Ecuador’s immense natural wealth, considering the principles of sustainability, sovereignty and equitable distribution of the benefits brought about by the change of the production matrix.

Once the anniversary ceremony is over, there will be a virtual conference: "Biocatalysts and their potential uses in environmental decontamination". This webinar will be led by Dr. Carlos Donoso Fernández, who did his Postgraduate studies at the University of São Paulo – Brazil.
