Our branch campus in Cuenca invites the university community and the general public to take part in the event: “Inti Raymi celebration”.

 

This year our university is in charge of organizing the events.The aim of the event is to remember the oldest religious celebration that the Incas carried out to worship the “Inti” God or the Sun. They carried out sacrifices and dances to worship the Sun God.

Inti Raymi is one of the most important cultural and traditional manifestations of the Andean region, which reflects the historical richness and deep ancestral legacy of its people. The cultural expression is celebrated through several festivities, rituals and practices that celebrate the connection with nature, agricultural cycles and traditional deities. Dance, music, colorful costumes and typical gastronomy are fundamental elements that stand out in these celebrations, showing the unique identity of Andean communities.
