3k race in Guayaquil

The university's industrial engineering undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a 3 kilometer race for students, professors, administrative staff and the overall public.
Over one thousand participated after having attended a short mass led by Father Raul Conza who spoke about the important of having events where the university community can strengthen their friendship.
"The aim is to institutionalize this activity and do it again next year, perhaps a 5k race and increase the number of participants", said Hugo Iñiguez, professor and coordinator of this event.

It's always important to feel motivated, sports is always about competition. I represented the mechatronics undergraduate program and it's always important to do your best in anything you take part in", said Luis Caicedo, winner of the men's 26 – 35 category.
There was also a performance by the Cheerleaders and the modern dance group. "Events like these encourage sports in general, not only academic activities, I'm happy the university did something like this", said Christy Mosquera, UPS alumni.
The winners of every category were awarded trophies and medals. "Encouraging sports and not only education is important because they are both important for people's personal development", said Diego Mata, representative of EKU-M.
