Our branch campus in Cuenca held an Employability and Entrepreneurship Fair “Alumni Conecta 2025”, an event that was organized with the cooperation of Universidad Nacional de Educación (UNAE), Universidad de Cuenca, Instituto Superior Tecnológico de Integración Andina (INAN) and  Red Ecuatoriana de Vinculación con la Sociedad (REUVIC). The aim was to strengthen ties between academia and the productive sectors, as well as help develop students’ professional development.  

Over a thousand people attended the event; they had the opportunity to meet representatives from 40 local and national companies with job openings in sectors such as technology, engineering, administration, chemistry, environmental education, and others. Participants took part in workshops, conferences, networking activities, and roundtables focused on developing soft skills, building personal branding, techniques for job interviews, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Father Juan Cárdenas Tapia, UPS President, spoke about the importance of these events since they are essential to strengthening the link between academia and businesses. They facilitate students' professional development and contribute to reducing social gaps such as migration. He also stressed that this event will generate tangible and sustainable results in the workplace.

The event demonstrates higher education institutions are committed to creating and promoting strategic events that facilitate professional integration and contribute to the comprehensive growth of their academic communities.
