Automotive engineering students took part in the 2024 Auto Show

The automotive engineering program in our branch campus in Guayaquil took part in the 2024 Auto Show, an event that brings the most important brands in the country together. At their stand, students used simulators, laboratories and virtual environments to demonstrate the university’s advanced technological infrastructure.
Rui Torres Bedor, student majoring in Automotive Engineering, said: "We presented prototypes and models that we designed and manufactured at the university." Attendees experienced the work and creativity of UPS students.
Renato Fierro, director of the automotive engineering major, spoke about how the event allowed visitors to learn more about the world of modern automotive engineering, "People who attended were able to live the experience of visiting the laboratories and facilities through virtual environments and thus learn more about the university’s technological and academic capabilities," he said.
Since its first edition in 1992, the Auto Show has been recognized as the best car show nationwide. With the support of the Ecuadorian Automotive Association (AEA for its acronym in Spanish) and the participation of the country's most recognized car brands, the event has become the main meeting point for buyers and enthusiasts of the automotive world.
Finally, Jorge Bracho, spokesperson for the Auto Show, said: "It is important to share information regarding electric vehicles with the community, and establish relationships with educational institutions." This interaction reinforces the link between the automotive industry and academia, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the development of new technologies.
