The electronics and automation, telecommunications, mechatronics, computer science, biomedicine, electricity, and mechanics undergraduate programs, as well as the IEEE branch in our branch campus in Cuenca, organized a battle of flamethrower robots “FireBots 3.0”.

The event enabled students to test their knowledge and skills. Flamethrower robots represent a mix of mechanical-electronic devices with controlled pyrotechnic elements, and their main function is to confront each other, offering a visual spectacle while demonstrating the technical mastery of their creators.

There were 29 robots in the competition, all designed and built by students in different categories, 10 and 15 pounds, which were controlled remotely. The purpose of organizing the battle was to enhance the transfer of knowledge through research processes. In addition, it created an opportunity for interaction between students of different majors.
