Over 3000 children from more than 35 schools came to the university to witness the presentation of the Christmas show “Robots also want Christmas” which was organized by the university’s “Pequeños Cientificos” Group and the multimedia, architecture, electronics and automation undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Cuenca.

The aim of the show was to represent the real meaning of Christmas and communicate the message of Jesus Christ; there were about 30 robots in the show.

At the beginning of the show, the robots get a signal and can see the celebration of Christmas on Earth; and in Cuenca they see “El pase del niño”, lights, songs, decorated houses. The robots then do some research and discover the true meaning of Christmas, they arrive at year zero and visit a manger and discover that the wise men have left some gifts and offerings, they also decide to leave an offering, each one has its meaning.

The show ends with the presentation of a robot that plays three traditional Christmas carols, musically accompanied by a piano and a guitar. In each of the scenes, the robots awaken children’s Christmas spirit.
