Civil engineering students visited Holcim
Students majoring in civil engineering in our branch campus in Guayaquil visited Holcim (San Eduardo Plant) to learn more about the production of concrete and different types of cement.
Students reinforced their knowledge by having a firsthand look at sustainable and efficient construction. Connie González, a student, said “we saw the cement production process; it was a very interesting experience because we discovered there are different types of concrete and different ways they can be used.”
Pedro Peña, director of the civil engineering undergraduate program, said “students learn about the operational process and design that goes into making concrete. These visits are important for students because they learn about our profession firsthand.”
