Conference “Sustainable Development Projects in Latin America”

Our branch campus in Cuenca held the Conference “Sustainable Development Projects in Latin America”.  The aim was to present technological advances that impact society from a humanitarian perspective. The event was organized by the IEEE Student Branch of our branch campus in Cuenca, in cooperation with: IES, EMBS, Computer, CAS, COMSOC and PES, the SIGHT group and the Telecommunications, Electronics and Automation, Electricity, Mechatronics and Mechanics undergraduate programs.


 
The main speaker was Dr. Pritpal Singh, professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University, United States. Dr. Singh's spoke about his experience and knowledge in the field of sustainable development projects in Latin America, encouraged the cooperation and transfer of knowledge between students and professors.

 

About 100 students from different majors attended the talk, which created an enriching exchange between international experts and the academic community. The event provided a unique opportunity for students to become familiar with sustainable development projects in the region and understand their importance from a technological and humanitarian perspective.


 
These activities stress the importance of engineering in business, educational and economic progress of society. to promote responsible and sustainable environmental management at UPS.
