During the Cultural Friday Program, our branch campus in Cuenca presented the play “Sinfonia de la Creación”.

The play was performed by young talented students from the university’s cultural groups in our branch campus in Guayaquil. They play combined elements of theater, modern dance, folk dance and choir. The play tells the story of Morales, a businessman who, after discovering that he is the only survivor of a native village destroyed by an environmental disaster, faces a deep personal dilemma about his connection to Earth and the conflicts between the economic development and the conservation of nature.

Inspired by the Gospel of Creation from Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si', the play makes you reflect on the relationship between humanity and the environment, stressing the importance of caring for our planet and promoting ecological responsibility.

Fr. Juan Cárdenas, UPS president, Fr. Marcelo Farfán, Inspector of Salesians in Ecuador, vice presidents of the university’s campuses, directors, professors, students and the general public attended the play.
