In order to prepare everyone at the university on how to orderly and technically respond to emergencies within the university premises, UPS-Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil have been holding emergency drills according to its Institutional Policy on occupational risks, as well as complying with the legal regulations of the Prevention Management System.

The drills are also held to assess the effectiveness of the Emergency Management Center in charge of Klever Ochoa Briones, Head of Security, Cristian Diaz, Head of Brigades, and Cesar Vasquez, UPS-Cuenca Vice President.

Klever Ochoa said that the brigade members responded well to both drills that were held in Cuenca by carrying out their activities accordingly. He added that students, professors and the whole staff cooperated very well, but that there are still certain aspects that they need to improve to have an even better response at the time of an emergency.
