Guillermo Mensi high school awarded UPS an acknowledgement award for all its support. Georgina Lojan, the high principal, and José Morocho, president of the parents committee, visited the university vice president in Cuenca, Cesar Vasquez, to officially award him the acknowledgement. 

Georgina Lojan said the recognition to the university and especially to its president, Father Javier Herran, symbolizes how thankful they are for all the help Guillermo Mensi high school has received in the academic, sports and social field. University professors and students from electronic engineering, electrical engineering and physical education have helped the high school in several activities. 

Here are some of the projects they have worked on together:

-    Exams for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students in mathematics and physics
-    "University math project" for senior year high school students
-    Prepare students for the ENES exam (a university admissions exam)
-    Organize the 5k athletic competition 

The university's vice president in Cuenca, Cesar Vasquez , was very thankful for the acknowledgment and said the university will continue to support the high school in several activities.
