Inter High School Theater competition

Cuenca, miércoles 4 junio 2025

Four high schools took part in an inter high school theater competition held in our branch campus in Cuenca, where students showcased their acting skills and presented a great show.

The plays stood out for their creativity and commitment, according to the regulations issued by the Technical Secretariat of Cultural Management. They conveyed messages that fostered environmental awareness and reflection on social issues. Each performance was an invitation to dream and live Salesian values through art.

The jury was made up of performing arts experts, who had the difficult task of choosing the winners since all the presentations stood out for their quality and dedication. The university thanked the Director of Culture, Recreation, and Knowledge from the Municipality of Cuenca, Jhonatan Koupermann, and the Azucena Ballet Academy, which the university acknowledged for its valuable contribution to culture and support in the Salesian Cultural Friday program.

- First place: Unidad Educativa Particular La Asunción

- Second place: Unidad Educativa Particular Rosa de Jesús Cordero

- Third place: Unidad Educativa Particular San Fransisco de Sales

The winning play titled “Wow” is a reflection on environmental care and protection. Through well-structured theatrical language and appropriate sets, the cast appealed to ecological awareness. This play will participate in the national grand finale, which will take place on August 27th in Guayaquil.

We congratulate all the participants for their outstanding participation and thank the teachers and staff for their invaluable support.
