Mechatronics students designed and build a spinning machine for the community of Caguanapamba

Bryam Meza, Gabriela Vélez, Bryan Vivanco and Paolo Suquilanda, students majoring in mechatronics in our branch campus in Cuenca, designed and built a machine for alpaca wool yarn which will help people from the community of Caguanapamba improve the process of their work.
Craftsmen from the community make clothing without the use of machinery which has turned into a problem during production; now thanks to the university’s community engagement and the machine students have been able to build, there will be better production. The students were guided by professor Diego Chacon.
A special event was held to officially present the machine to the community of Caguanapamba; workers from the community, professors and students were there.
Mechatronics students and professors continuously work on projects to benefit less privileged communities in Ecuador.
