Our branch campus in Quito held a meeting with people who participate in agro ecological activities; it was attended by farmers, consumers, representatives from public and private institutions and people in academia. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and find solutions to problems in the food sector; the agreements will be presented during the National Meeting of the Agro Ecological Association in October in Manabí. 

The meeting was organized by Cooperativa Sur - Siendo Redes y Sabores, Rikolto, el Instituto de Estudios Ecuatorianos (IEE), Agrónomos y Veterinarios Sin Fronteras (AVSF) y HEIFER, el Grupo de Investigación Educación e Interculturalidad (GIEI), el Grupo de Investigación en Ciencias Ambientales (GRICAM).

There were four main topics: "Production, commercialization and consumption: interpretation from the experiences of territorial agroecological circuits", "Agroecological training and education", "Provincial public policies: advances and limitations" and "Pichincha Agroecological Network: challenges for its organization", all topics discussed strengths and weaknesses of the current agri-food system and the need to form the Quito-Pichincha Agroecological Network, whose aim would be to form a regional network to create public policies from territorial needs that have a positive effect on an popular, intercultural and democratic agri-food system.
