Students majoring in electronics and automation, mechatronics and business administration, who are members of the Robotics club in our branch campus in Guayaquil, had an outstanding participation in the International XRobo7s-III Tournament which was organized by the Eli7 Robotics Club from Universidad Nacional de Piura, in Peru.

Oscar Alvarez, mechatronics student, won first place in the senior robots category; Vivianne Gressely and Bryan Vargas won 2nd place in the senior soccer category, and Madelayne Montufar won silver in the amateur category. The university won 2nd place overall among all participating institutions.

Oscar Alvarez said “it was a very close competition, there were several types of robots and that enabled us to learn more techniques and innovative ways of assembly and design.”

All robots in the competition had to be designed and assembled from scratch, they were original models. Byron Lima said “students applied their knowledge and prepared to face different scenarios which they could encounter in real life and innovation is crucial in order to stand out”.
