Presentation of the book: Pregnancy is also a man’s thing – Survival Guide

Our branch campus in Cuenca and Hospital del Rio presented the book: “El embarazo es también cosa de hombres - Guía de supervivencia" (Pregnancy is also a man’s thing – Survival Guide). Ángel Torres and Fernando Moreno coordinated the book; the presentation was held in the “Marcelo Cordero” Auditorium located in the hospital. Officials and representatives of both institutions and several guests attended the event.
The book offers a practical and accessible guide for men who become fathers, it addresses the physical and emotional changes that couples go through during pregnancy. Using simple language, the authors invite fathers to actively engage in this process and stop being passive observers.
The book explains the three trimesters of pregnancy in an engaging way, it offers clear advice on how to face changes and how to be a constant support for your partner. The book provides valuable tools for men to better understand this stage and play an active role in it.
Dr. Óscar Chango, Director of Hospital Universitario del Río, spoke about the importance of the work carried out between both institutions and stressed the quality of the authors. Ángel Torres explained the book's main concepts and their relevance for developing committed fathers, while Dr. Fernando Moreno spoke about sharing his experience and knowledge for the book.
Fernando Pesántez, General Vice President of UPS, complimented the authors' ability to approach the topic with a human perspective, and explained the importance of men also feeling an active part in pregnancy.
