Research that seeks to increase the efficiency and quality of electrical energy

The study conducted by Professors Leony Ortiz and Alexander Aguila, members of GIREI, seeks to optimize the routing processes of the electrical network and the attainment of mathematical criteria for making decisions regarding the improvement of electrical networks. They attended the "International Conference on Sustainable Energy Engineering 2017" (ICSEE 2017) which was held from the 12th – 14th of June in Perth, Australia.
Both professors presented the results obtained in cooperation with the GITyD and GIDATI research groups from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Medellín (Colombia).
The papers presented in the event were:
- "Multi-Criteria Optimization of the Deployment of a Grid for Rural Electrification Based on a Heuristic Method", L. Ortiz-Matos, A. Aguila-Tellez, R.C. Hincapié-Reyes and J.W. González-Sanchez - Expositor: Leony Ortiz.
- "Technical and Economic Assessment of the Implementation of Measures for Reducing Energy Losses in Distribution Systems", A. Aguila-Tellez and J.W. González-Sanchez. - Expositor: Leony Ortiz. T
The papers will be published in Earth and Environmental Science (EES) (ISSN: 1755-1315), con indexación en: EI Compendex, Scopus, Thomson Reuters (WoS), Inspec.
Universities from around the world took part in the ICSEE 2017: USA, Australia, Ecuador, South Korea, China, Iraq, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, SRI LANKA, Thailand, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates.
It is worth mentioning that UPS was the only South American university that attended the conference.
