Retos, a journal on administrative sciences and economics, celebrated its 15th anniversary. Editors from prestigious journals, researchers, professors, members of the university’s publications board and representatives from Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte de Guayaquil, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Universidad de Guayaquil, Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), Universidad Espíritu Santo, Universidad ECOTEC, Universidad Internacional del Ecuador. Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí and Universidad Tecnológica Empresarial de Guayaquil attended the event.
Retos is indexed to Scopus, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Web of Science, SciELO Ecuador, REDALYC, Latindex, DOAJ, European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences, REDIB, Dialnet, MIAR and CIRC. As well as, repositories, libraries and specialized catalogues around the world.
During the event, they acknowledged authors and reviewers for their contribution to the journal. Jorge Cueva, chief editor, said “Retos wants to have visibility, international projection and increase the impact of published articles.” Juan Cardenas, UPS president, stressed that “when a university publishes its work, it talks to the world. Retos demonstrates its commitment to science and social justice.”
The journal’s mission is to encourage critical thinking and interdisciplinary talks, as well as encourage research that provides solutions to social challenges.
