UPS-Cuenca is still holding the solidarity campaign which is aimed at helping all those people who were affected by the earthquake that hit the Ecuadorian coast on April 16. Furthermore, the university will be carrying out a new campaign, which was suggested by the artificial intelligence and assistive technology research group and the reading and writing center,  titled "Desde el corazón", or from the heart. The campaign is about students, professors, staff and the entire community writing a letter to those affected by the earthquake through which they will feel how supported they are by everyone.

On another note, electrical engineering students Marcelo Merchan, Libio Calle and Santiago Medina traveled to the disaster area to personally donate an electric generator, they also helped with installations.

"People are very thankful and they are going through a lot of pain. This gives us the energy we need to keep helping" said Santiago Medina.
The students federation at UPS-Cuenca, along with other student federations in the city invite everyone to take part of a 5k walk which will start in Parque de la Madre this Saturday, April 30 at 10am.
