The community engagement department in our branch campus in Cuenca and the University College Leuven Limburg, from Belgium, have been working together on a student mobility program titled “Doble Vía”, which enables students from both universities to acquire new experiences.

“Doble Vía” is a student mobility program where 15 students, majoring in business administration, psychology, computing, mechanics, mechatronics, electronics and automation, and biomedicine; from both universities work alongside professors on projects to improve the living conditions of children, teenagers and vulnerable personas overall.

Belgian students visited several projects in our branch campus, such as: Pequeñ@os Científicos, Cátedra UNESCO, Ecuagenera, Programa de Asesoramiento Empresarial (PAE), Grupo de Investigación APUSKILL, Fundación Salesiana PACES, Fundación Amaru, el Instituto de Parálisis Cerebral del Azuay (IPCA) and IEEE groups.

Students have broadened their knowledge, acquired new skills and created international relations. It is an opportunity to enrich cooperation between students from different cultures and encourage innovation to seek solutions to social problems.
