On April 20th, computer engineering students from the university's branch campus in Guayaquil visited "La Universal Sweet Industries", an important producer of sweets with over 125 years in the Ecuadorian market. 

The aim of this technical visit was that students learn about the processes and application of technical systems that are implemented in the industrial plant. "Students were able to see that what they learn in the classroom takes place in the business world and that theory and hands on practice guarantees successful professional development", said Alice Naranjo, coordinator of the GASOL group. 

There were around 13 students who visited this company; they learned about the quality standards in the organization, the management of ISO 9001, 14001 and 22001 systems and they also tasted the products. "There will be visits to other companies so students can learn more about their future profession", said Naranjo.
