The early education undergraduate program in the university's campus in Guayaquil held a talk titled "Latin American pedagogical thinking". Students were able to debate and reflect on the current education system.

The talk was held as part of the subject General Pedagogy, taught by professor Susana Pombo. The talk enabled students to review concepts from a historical perspective. The educators who were analyzed were:  Paulo Freire, Gabriela Mistral, José Marti, Luis Iglesia, Jesualdo Sosa and others.

"The aim is that students, not only learn about the pedagogical theories of the pioneers in this field, but that the develop their own", said professor Pombo.

Talks are a good way to help students acquire new knowledge, professors are constantly looking for creative ways to teach their classes. For Maria Lorena Rengifo, a student majoring in early education, the talk was like getting feedback of everything that had been taught during the semester.

"We learned about the work carried out by educators from Latin America and through their experience they provided new concepts of education", she said.
