The dentistry undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a talk titled “Managing dental pain” led by Karina Ramirez, who talked to students about the methods used to reduce pain.

Karol Chavez, director of the undergraduate program, explained the importance of having a talk on this topic in order to prepare students for their future profession. “The aim of the talk was to provide students with information on how to detect problems and suggest treatments according to each case”, she said.

Karina Ramirez said “it is important to identify the origin of pain because it can be caused by different parts of our body which can influence toothaches.” 

They also stressed the importance of analyzing patients completely and understand their fears; that way dentists can provide great service.
