Talks and an open house to strengthen students' skills in psychology

The psychology undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a talk titled “Depression and suicide” and an open house “Psychology 2022”.
The talk by led by renowned experts such as Carlos Orellana Roman, Guillermo Wong, Martha Velasquez Sotomayor, Isabel Cardenas Moncayo and Bernardo Peñaherrera.
The speakers analyzed the problem based on psychiatry, philosophy, cognitive-behavioral, organizational and psychoanalysis point of views, in order to establish preventive dialogues on depression and suicidal behavior. "Depression intensified during the pandemic, showing, unfortunately, that it is a subject of public policy analysis, we must find ways to prevent it," Peñaherrera said.
During the Open House students presented several projects they have worked on during class. Marlys Lisbeth Ipiales, professor of the psychology undergraduate program and the coordinator of the event, said the aim is that students present everything they have worked on and encourage others to study psychology”, she said
