The university’s Abya Yala Publishing House ranks 4th in the category of Anthropology and 63rd in the general SPI Ranking, which makes it one of the most prestigious publishing houses worldwide.

The SPI (Scholarly Publishers Indicators) is a system that applies a series of indicators to evaluate publishers’ scientific activity. The SPI ranking was created by the “Grupo de Investigación sobre el Libro Academico (ILIA)” and the Higher Council of Scientific Research in Spain, it has been active since 2012. 

Jose Juncosa, director of the Abya Yala Publishing House, said it is important to keep positioning the Abya Yala brand in the field of anthropology. The university is pleased to have professors and researchers who have worked with Abya Yala. This is the work of constant effort that shows the commitment of undergraduate programs and research groups.
