The communication undergraduate program celebrated its 20th anniversary

The communication undergraduate program held a special ceremony to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The ceremony was attended by students, alumni, officials, professors and friends.
UPS president Javier Herran congratulated the communication undergraduate program and stated that communicators are there to provide "good news", especially now that we mostly get only bad news"
A video showed the history of the undergraduate program and Luis Enrique Zamora, the program's first graduate, encouraged students to continue their preparation. He spoke about his experience at UPS, his friends, professors and his first journalistic experience in UTOPIA magazine.
They also presented videos made by former students where they congratulate the program and talked about their anecdotes in the university. Professor Leonardo Ordoñez, also UPS alumni, spoke about the characteristics of the communication undergraduate program at UPS.
Gabriela Machuca, student and president of the communication undergraduate program, gave a speech about the responsibility of communicators and the type of education provided at UPS.
Andrea De Santis, director of the undergraduate program, stated "we will never cease of providing quality human and academic education. We will continue to create a solid and innovative university, making everyone part of this process…"
Fernando Moscoso, vice president of the university's campus in Cuenca, made a toast for the communication undergraduate program, for their anniversary and the years to come. He congratulated professors and students.
During the ceremony, they also awarded a special recognition to former directors of the communication undergraduate program: Jorge Galán (2000 – 2004), Luis Araneda (2004 – 2012) and Gioconda Beltran (2012 – 2019).
The event was hosted by communication student Karla Pesantez and broadcast live through the university's social networks and Comunica TV.
