Professor and researcher Gino Grondona Opazo, also the coordinator of the psychosocial research group at UPS- Quito, was one of the speakers during the Third International Conference on Social Psychology, which was organized by the Faculty of Psychology of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM) fromo the 18th to the 20th of November.
The aim of the conference was that professors, professionals, students and overall public from around the world share their thoughts and experiences on urban areas and indigenous communities from a psychosocial perspective.
Professor Grondona presented his paper titled "Lucha popular por el lugar en la periferia urbana de Quito: Reflexiones críticas desde/sobre la Psicología Social Comunitaria", this research was conducted in Cutuglagua, south of Quito.
The aim of the research was to help people take part in participatory actions and explain how they can organize their neighborhood.
Professor Grondona said that this event helps strengthen the relationship between UPS and UNAM as he was invited to be a part of the Scientific Committee at the next conference in 2017.
