UPS-Guayaquil professors and researchers attended a training session on how to design, create and manage a blog; the workshop is meant to train research group representatives in communication.
The workshop was carried out within REFCOM's philosophy of encouraging communication towards public opinion and to disseminate science to Ecuadorian society. It's about helping society to develop since users will be able to learn about the activities being carried out by researchers.

The training session was led by the university's web editor and professor, Andrea De Santis and his assistant David Armendariz, who told the research group representatives that the aim of the workshop is that every research group be in charge of creating their own web site where they can post publications and the progress of their research. 

"UPS is an academic community that is working towards the development and production of research. We should not only focus on conducting research so it can be published on renowned journals, we should conduct research that will benefit society" said De Santis
