Officials in our branch campus in Cuenca held a formal graduation ceremony for 24 professionals who were part of the university’s Dual education program in industrial electricity and industrial mechanics. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Chamber of industries, production and employment.
The program which lasted 2 years and a half, divided into 5 semesters, allowed students to have theoretical classes and hands on practice; classes were guided by professors who are experts in their field and practice was held in the workshops of Tecnico Salesiano and the companies that were part of the program.
Andres Robalino, executive director of the Chamber of industries, production and employment, started the ceremony by stating that he is pleased that professionals have ended this program after all their hard work, effort and support of their companies. He thanked Universidad Politecnica Salesiana for having carried out this program which is the only one in south America. He encouraged participants to put their knowledge into practice in their companies.
Juan Cardenas Tapia, UPS president, stated that we are not only celebrating the new graduates, but also trust between companies, the university and professionals. Companies have discovered the value of their workers and have provided their support with training; the university has provided training sessions based on real needs and workers have acquired new skills to improve their performance.
