The information and communication for disabilities research group (TICAD for its acronym in Spanish) held a forum in order bring together students majoring in computer science, biomedicine, early and basic education. During the forum, they presented research results, projects and publications of papers on national and international journals.

The speakers were Mireya Cisneros, a senior researcher and professor at Universidad Technological de Pereira from Colombia, who during her talk encouraged people to conduct more research.

David Zorrilla and Williams Choez, former students and members of the TICAD research group, presented the papers carried out by the research group during the last 9 years.

 
Yajaira Bermeo, assistant of academic development and researcher of TICAD, explained the importance of using appropriate tools and techniques to carry out research. “Students learned step by step how to conduct research, data bases they can use and norms for citations”, she said.

Williams Choez said he was thrilled to have participated in this event, “it was an enriching experience; by writing papers we help people with disabilities and students prepare for their professional lives and research”, he said.
