The university’s Accounting Support Services Office (NAF for its acronym in Spanish) in our branch campus in Cuenca took part of the 1st Meeting for Accounting Support Services Offices, which was organized by Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL). 

Diana Arce, coordinator of the NAF, presented the results and explained the office has assisted 29609 cases since 2017; they have helped with tax return advice for all taxpayers, tax refund advice for vulnerable sectors, people´s rights in taxes, RUC closures, reopening, updating and certificates, and other services.

 The meeting was not only an opportunity for several institutions, professionals and student representatives in the field of Accounting and Auditing to meet, but it also laid the foundations for successful Accounting Support Services Offices in Ecuador. This event marked the beginning of a series of collaborations to future events that will contribute significantly to reach common goals. During the meeting, students also had the opportunity to talk about their experiences;  Mohammed Alkuhlani, a foreign student spoke about his experience at the NAF.

The next edition of this meeting will be held in our branch campus in Cuenca in November 2024. The decision to organize the next edition in Cuenca marks the beginning of the generation of new research projects. In addition, there will be the participation of the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) and other universities that have Accounting Support Services Offices.
