Our branch campus in Cuenca held a talk on quality and the role of INEN (Ecuadorian standardization Institute), which was led by Cesar Diaz, Executive Director of INEN. Undergraduate program directors and professors attended the talk that was aimed at promoting quality and excellence in higher education. 

Cesar Díaz explained quality infrastructure and the role of INEN in the field of control of quality standards in each of the institutions, whether public or private, as well as the different standards of each of the elements that must abide by these regulations in order to provide citizens with a high-quality product. Regarding academia, he said there are several elements such as laboratories that should also have a normalization process.

He also explained how to proceed so that a certain product meets high quality standards and based on this the standard that can be applied. He stressed that there is a greater demand that products comply with standards that certify their high quality.

 
After the conference, representatives of INEN and our branch campus in Cuenca had a meetingto discuss issues regarding joint work and the possibility of signing inter institutional cooperation agreements.

 
The event represents the consolidation of a culture based on quality in higher education, in line with international standards and with the university's commitment to offering excellent education to students.
