Cuenca, lunes 24 febrero 2025

Our branch campus in Cuenca presented 14 pedal cars that will be used in interactive parks by the Mobility Company EMOV EP in Cuenca as part of road safety education.
The cars were designed by students and teachers from the Automotive Engineering program and will be used in city parks to promote road safety education and promote respect for traffic rules in young people and children from Cuenca.

The vehicles have been specifically designed for use in recreational environments. UPS also provided user manuals and maintenance kits that include tools and spare tires to guarantee the safe and long-lasting use of these cars.

The project not only seeks to provide recreational activities, but also education, through a tool that teaches traffic rules in a fun and interactive way. The idea is part of the joint efforts of the university and EMOV EP to promote a culture of good driving behavior and respect for traffic laws in the city.

The university held a ceremony in the laboratory of the UPS Automotive Engineering program. Fernando Moscoso Merchán, vice president of our branch campus in Cuenca, and Lenin Guzmán Casquete, Director of EMOV EP were in the event. They both stressed the importance of cooperation between the university and the public company to carry out projects that directly impact the community.

Fernando Moscoso spoke about the importance of working with public institutions such as EMOV EP, demonstrating the university's commitment to the social and educational development of the city. Lenin Guzmán explained how these vehicles will be a valuable tool to teach children and young people from Cuenca about traffic rules, encouraging more responsible and respectful behavior.
