Father Jorge Moliona, Inspector of Salesians and UPS official, visited UPS-Quito, Campus Giron and Campus Sur, on November 19th to meet with faculty directors, professors and overall staff. He was accompanied by UPS-Quito Vice President Jose Juncosa.

At noon, he had lunch with 30 students who live in the university residence and belong to salesian missionaries from all over the country.

Despite becoming Salesian inspector in 2014, it was the first time he officially visited UPS. People in the university listened carefully to his message and also talked to him about their thoughts, worries and experiences. He was very kind and firstly thanked everyone for their hard work and commitment, his first question was: How do you all feel?

"Education is key nowadays and UPS should also be known for having salesian charisma. Being evaluated by CEAACES should not make us lose our spirit and we should also get a charismatic accreditation" said Father Molina, who thinks UPS should learn more about their students' identity, their questions, thoughts, etc.

He talked about how important it is to provide young people a friendly environment with love, he also said loving young people is not enough, that they should know exactly who they are and that we should guide them so that they know where they are going in life.

He reminded everyone of Don Bosco's dream at the age of 9, when he dreamed that a group of young boys were laughing and cursing, and that he went up to them and violently tried to stop them. Father Molina said "just the way God had told Don Bosco that day, you cannot convince those boys with violence, you need to be gentle.

He highlighted the importance of the Pastoral department at UPS and said "UPS should be a spiritual place where students live, share, study, talk and get an education".
