Within the current political context in our country, the communication major in the university's branch campus in Guayaquil held a talk titled "Political communication: the media and the electoral campaign". In the talk they analyzed current political issues so that students can have a clearer, more analytical and critical vision regarding the actions in the communication field.

The speakers were renown professionals in communication such as: Marlon Puerta, Arturo Tello, Máximo García and Miguel Córdoba, they analyzed the different speeches and forms of communication used by the different presidential candidates. "Communication is transversal in several areas and this gives us a broader vision of the expectations of a professional career", said Casia Delgado, coordinator of the event.

For Marlon Puerta, talking about political communication with students is very enriching because demonstrates the importance of their job in the professional field.

"A communicator is a professional that serves society and seeks suitable training in order to contribute to the social development of an entire country", said Arana.
