Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Guayaquil inaugurated a new period of "Cultural Wednesdays" with a presentation of the "Ayawayra" Folk Dance Group. These cultural events give students the opportunity to have integral education and to help build a salesian cultural identity.

"The aim is to promote and disseminate the institution's image and a sense of belonging to strengthen cultural interaction not only in Guayaquil, but in Quito and Cuenca as well", said Cesar Andrade. 

Arturo Campoverde, director of the folk dance group, said theseactivities help people appreciate Ecuadorian culture and its traditions. All cultural activities in the university have an educational purpose and are related to the university's mission and vision statements.
