On July 15th people attended the preview of the play "Como agua para el chocolate" which is based on the book written by Mexican writer Laura Esquivel. This play was directed by Juan Pablo Acosta, the actors and actresses were: Scarlet Cisneros, Melanie Montenegro, Jonathan Castro, Jonathan Vásquez, Carla Sánchez, Bryan Enríquez, Fernanda Merino, Andrea Córdova, Josué Gómez, Juan Ledesma, Mafer Suárez, Viviana Tituaña, Michell Gortaire, Nicolás Carrera, Dimitri Jácome, Giselle Juka and Salomé Jetón.

The original story was published in 1989 and was based on the historical context of the Mexican revolution and that's where the story takes place, a woman's life, the relationship with her family and love, It is told with a magical realism and combines the supernatural with mundane. This book was included in the list of the 100 best Spanish novels of the twentieth century by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.

 The theater season in the university's branch in Quito will hold several presentations on July  20, 21,22 and August 3, 4, 5 in Campus El Giron. The schedule for all the performances is at 18h30.
