Since December 7th, Jhon Mantilla, projects manager of Corporación de Gestión Sostenible, has been giving UPS students advice for their business and projects.

This mentorship will take place until the 20th of December; the aim is to create a community of entrepreneurship with a focus on sustainability, in other words besides having an economical approach, projects should focus on social and environmental aspects. "Sustainable businesses pollute less and are friendlier with the environment", said Mantilla.

These activities allow us to guide youngsters in the management of their projects and provide them tools to strengthen their knowledge in any area.

For Mantilla, sustainable projects should focus on helping the community, staff, family and protecting the environment. "These perspectives must be present in people's projects since that is where we can appreciate sustainability", he said.

Sustainable development was proposed last year by the United Nations, the proposal contains 17 objectives that will help improve the development of projects. "It is important to tell young entrepreneurs about these goals so that they can approach their projects differently and not focus only on the profits", said Mantilla.

These mentoring sessions are held from Monday to Friday from 10 to 11am and from 5 to 6pm in the Coworking office, located on the fourth floor of building D.
