Electrical engineering professors and students from UPS-Guayaquil successfully ended the training courses on home electrical installations which they led for 25 people in Guayaquil´s detention center. The aim is to help these people in their rehabilitation and social reintegration. These workshops take place thanks to the agreements between the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and Universidad Politecnica Salesiana.

This was an entirely hands on workshop which started on January 25 and had strictly high levels of security control to avoid accidents with electricity. "The workshop taught people how to install lights, electrical outlets, electric shower head, air conditioners and other electrically driven device" said professor Luis Alberto Ruiz.

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights leads a project aimed at educating people in detention centers and with the support of UPS they help with their rights to education.
