The university's branch campus in Cuenca and the Red Cross from the province of Azuay held a campaign and a blood donation event that was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of donating blood to save lives. Students, professors and administrative staff participated. 

The Red Cross currently provides training sessions to promote the importance of healthy lifestyles and how to avoid diseases. It also promotes the donation of blood in order to meet the demand nationwide and reduce death rates.

Students said they were happy to help and knew how important it was to donate blood that could save lives.
