Celebrations in honor of the Immaculate Conception
Celebrations in honor of the Immaculate Conception
Our branch campus in Cuenca celebrated the Immaculate Conception Festival, one of the most important Marian celebrations in the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. It was an opportunity to strengthen the ties of fraternity and faith in the university community.
The Festival is celebrated every December 8; it is a time of reflection and gratitude toward the Mother of God, whom we honor as a model of purity and divine love. There were a series of activities designed to celebrate this festival.
One of the first activities was a serenade, as well as a procession that began outside the Juan Botasso building. Workers, teachers and students carried the image of the Virgin on their shoulders with respect and devotion. Mass was celebrated in the coliseum, presided by Father Marcelo Farfán and Father Juan Cárdenas. During the mass, the university choir and members of the University Pastoral sang songs and read poems dedicated to the Virgin.
We thank the entire university community for taking part in the activities to commemorate the Immaculate Conception.
