During March and April the systems engineering major and the ICT's research group at UPS-Guayaquil held the seminar "ICT's for inclusive education of disabled people".

The event was supported by the following organizations: CONADIS (National Council for the equality of the disabled), FENCE ( National Federation of the blind), RIBE ( Ibero American Network of educational computing), FUNDAPI ( Internet foundation), and the Free Softwre group (GASOL).

The participants learnt how to use ICT's to support the process of inclusive education by considering changes made to the curriculum and technological tools that favor education for all.
Workshops allowed participants to apply their knowledge in real and specific situations through cooperative group work. Participants agreed that there should be more seminars on this topic since teachers need to know about these new inclusive approaches in order to complement their activities. The speakers of the seminar were:  Alice Naranjo, MSc. Darío Huilcapi, MSc. Nelson Mora and Msc. Ricardo Naranjo Sánchez.

The closing ceremony was held on April 17 where once again the participants highlighted the importance of having more seminars on this topic so that inclusive education can become a reality.
