UPS professor presented his research at the AES-ATEMA 2015 international conference

UPS professor Luis Garzon, PhD, coordinator of the New Materials and Transformation Processes Research Group (GIMAT) at the university, presented some of the advances of his research with his paper titled "Factorial Study of Process Parameters on the Orientation State of Injected Bamboo Fibre/Polypropylene Composite Parts" during the XXVI edition of AES-ATEMA 2015 held in Ottowa, Canada.
The research was carried out by UPS researchers Jorge Fajardo and Jonnathan D. Santos and Luis Cruz from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. The research highlights the importance of computer studies and mathematical models in the manufacturing process of injection molding; UPS-Cuenca has modern equipment for this type of research.
Important representatives from several centers attended the event, such as Dr Wei Tien Hsiao from the Materials and Chemical Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute Taiwan, Dr. M. Okumiya from the Materials Processing Lab. Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, JAPAN. And other representatives from the University of Lyon, France and the University of Ottawa, Canada.
The international conference holds engineering events that focus on the progress, tendencies and applications of materials. There were several presentations on topics such as new materials, computer simulation and experimentation and mathematical studies used for the application of these new proposals in the field of engineering.
