The basic education undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a talk titled "Communication skills in the educational context". The aim of the talk was to provide didactic resources to mediate conflicts with students, directors, colleagues and parents.

The webinar was led by Fernando Saltos, expert in communication topics, who spoke about nonverbal communication, voice and messages.

The topics were:

- Conflictive situations

- Assertive communication

- Empathic listening

- Feedback

- Communication techniques

Susuna Pombo, director of the basic education undergraduate program stated that "professors are communicators and we often don't do enough to acquire these skills to improve our relationship with students, professors and directors".

During the talk, they stressed the work of teachers, which consists of creating a friendly environment for students. In addition, the role that messages play and the way to transmit them was highlighted so that learning occurs. "A technique of assertive communication is DEEC: Describe, Express, Explain, Comment", said Fernando Saltos.

Communication skills that educators possess are very important. The combination of knowledge becomes essential for the assertive transmission of knowledge
