The Ecuadorian Network of Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications and like minded majors-RECIETA, in Spanish, met at UPS-Cuenca to discuss several issues related to its creation. They also analyzed the progress made in the redesign of the universities' curriculums. 

The meeting began right after the UPS-Cuenca Vice President Cesar Vasquez welcomed the representatives from all the universities and wished them the best of luck in creating the network.

The current president of RECIETA, Rene Avila Campoverde, presented a report to later begin with the scheduled activities.
In order to create the Network, all university representatives have been holding meetings since February 2013 to discuss issues such as research, academia and community involvement.  

The Network will encourage academic projects and activities by sharing experiences, through communication and the use of resources that will support the development of higher education and the country.
