Resilience, an opportunity for personal changes
The theology undergraduate program held a talk titled "Resilience, hope and solidarity" to discuss the current situation in the world today caused by Covid-19, from a theological perspective.
The talk was held online and was attended by over 120 people nationwide. Two of the topics were "A theological perspective of the health emergency", presented by Daniel Castillo and "A psychological perspective of the health emergency", presented by Ximena Andrade.
Professors said resilience is an opportunity for positive personal change. However, because of the current crisis people can have a hard time seeing the positive side of things. Veronica Loor, director of the Theology program, said "we will continue having these events at the university in order to create a national and international theological community that contributes to society."
Experts suggest having positive mental health based on building self confidence, having hope, gratitude, solidarity and optimism in order to face the current situation. Ximena Andrade, stated that remembering the past, does not allow you to face reality and make changes, therefore we must accept our reality.
