The law undergraduate program in our branch campus in Cuenca reopened its legal clinic which will provide free legal assistance to the university community and the general public. The event was presided by UPS president, Juan Cardenas, and attended by university officials, directors of undergraduate programs and special guests such as the president of the National Court of Justice of Azuay, the public defender of Azuay, the president and vice president of the lawyers association of Azuay.

During 2023 a great number of people, especially from the rural sector, visited the legal clinic; there were about 2008 advisory services and 297 legal representations in the areas of famiy, wormen, childhood and adolescence, and family violence.

The legal clinic enables students to have hands on practice and improve their academic education by strengthening their skills.

The university’s legal clinic is committed to providing great legal advice in several areas and is open from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm. It is located on 3-26 Fray Vicente Solano  and Aurelio Aguilar.
