For the first time, the university celebrated "Ecuadorian Archivist Day", which was approved by the country's National Assembly on May 10th. This represents an important feat for professionals in this field. 

The event was attended by archivists from several Ecuadorian, Mexican, Argentinean and Spanish universities.

The tribute was presided by William Ladino, Archivist at our university; who explained the work they carry out at UPS.

Some international professors congratulated archivists on the work they carry out; Branka Tanodi from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba - Argentina, daughter of Aurelio Tanodi, considered the Father of archival science in Argentina and a benchmark in South America and worldwide. Professor Gustavo Villanueva Bazán from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México; Professor Adriana Cassati, Professor / Archivist of Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia Austral, of Caleta Olivia Academic Unit - Argentina, Founder of the Network of Patagonian Archivists of Argentina, President of the Republic of Argentina University Archives Commission; and Professor Alfonso Díaz Rodríguez, from the Government of Asturias - Spain.

UPS congratulates and recognizes the work carried out by archivists dedicated to safeguarding the institutional memory and the country in general.
