Last June 12th in Guayaquil, UPS Professor, Researcher at the Environmental Modelling Research Center (CIMA), and Director of the Aguarongo Scientific Forest Station, Fredi Portilla PHD participated in the II International Congress on Biotechnology and Biodiversity- CIBB 2014 which was organized by the Ecuadorian Biotechnology Research Center (CIBE) and the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral ESPOL.

Portilla presented his paper titled “Desertification and Desertization in the Province of Azuay: analysis since the year 1980”. This research is being done by CIMA along with Environmental Engineering students within the research line of weather and climate.
